Looking for a light and refreshing salad to enjoy this summer? This Strawberry Spinach Salad with Strawberry Lime Vinaigrette is colourful and full of flavour! The strawberry and lime flavors pair perfectly together, making this salad irresistible. Plus, it's super easy to make – just mix the ingredients together and you're good to go!
Ontario Strawberries are in season from June to October, so now is the perfect time to enjoy them! This salad is a great way to use up fresh berries. Find local strawberries at your local pick-your-own farm, farm market, or farm shoppe.
Make It Ahead
This vinaigrette can be made-ahead and stored in the fridge. We found this dressing fits perfectly in a 250 ml canning jar.
To prep the salad in advance, here's what we suggest:
- store the vinaigrette in the fridge until you are ready to use it
- put the spinach, strawberries and red onions in a large bowl, cover and refrigerate
- measure out the crumbled feta into a small bowl, cover and refrigerate
- measure out the pistachios in a small bowl, cover and set aside
- the avocado is best kept whole until the salad is ready to serve to prevent browning
When it's time to serve, slice the avocado and incorporate the salad ingredients. Drizzle with the dressing and gently toss to incorporate.

Strawberry Lime Dressing Ingredients
1 cup chopped fresh Ontario strawberries
¼ cup olive oil
Lime zest from 1 lime
1.5 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
1.5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Sea salt and ground pepper to taste
Salad Ingredients
8 oz fresh spinach
2 cups halved or sliced strawberries
1 large avocado, sliced
¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
2/3 cup crumbled feta cheese or goat cheese
½ cup roasted pistachios
Directions
Make the dressing: Using a blender, add the strawberries, olive oil, lime zest, lime juice, vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Blend until smooth and set aside.
Assemble the salad in a large bowl. When ready to serve, drizzle the salad with dressing and toss. Alternatively, plate each salad separately and serve the dressing on the side.
